Waterbury Hospital, the cornerstone for the Greater Waterbury Health Network, is a 357-bed community and teaching hospital that, along with outpatient centers, affiliates and partners, provides world-class healthcare services to more than 350,000 people living in the Greater Waterbury Region.   Among its centers of excellence are orthopaedic surgery, cardiology, a surgical innovations center, and a family birthing center.   Waterbury Hospital serves as an education and training center for physicians and other professionals—it operates an internal medicine residency training program, a surgical residency training program, a pharmacy residency program along with serving as a training site for nursing and other clinical students.
